Data Import and Export

Introduction
============

You can always start a data import or export process to a mounted external storage device.
This exports the whole server data including user data, configurations, and databases
and can therefore be used for a manual full backup.
Also data can be imported which will be written to a nextcloud user folder which can be defined in the portal.

Data Export
===========

The export process is a simple rsync command that copies all relevant data (with the --delete option to ensure consistency) to the mounted external storage device into the folder "libre_workspace_export".
To start a data export process, please follow these steps:

.. warning:: While the export process is running, all services are stopped to ensure data consistency.
   Therefore, the server will be temporarily unavailable during the export process.

- Go to the Libre Workspace Portal
- Navigate to Management -> Data Import/Export
- Mount the external storage device to via the "Mount" button
- Then under "Data Export" select the mounted device and click on "Start Export"
- The data export is finished when the services are back running again


Data Import
===========

The import process imports data into a nextcloud user folder.
To start a data import process, please follow these steps:

- Go to the Libre Workspace Portal
- Navigate to Management -> Data Import/Export
- Mount the external storage device to via the "Mount" button
- Then under "Data Import" select the mounted device, and select the nextcloud user where the data should be imported to.
- Click on "Start Import"
